Controller

The Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including managing accounting records, ensuring compliance and regulation, financial reporting, data analysis, establishing policy and procedures and internal controls, and budget and forecast preparation.  Position requires collaboration with the finance team to meet company goals and objectives while demonstrating the mission and values of a growing company to serve the common goal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
• Manages all credit and collections activity.
• Manages the annual external audit, including all communications with external auditors.
• Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances.
• Assists Financial Analyst with the budgeting process by recommending techniques and advising responsible personnel on budget methodology.
• Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data for the Board of Directors and the ownership group.
• Prepares special reports to debt syndicate using techniques similar to SEC Rule 3-10 reporting.
• Oversees regulatory and tax reporting to various state and local stakeholders and taxation authorities.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
• Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and directing employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
