What Will You Do?:
The Role:
This position investigates suspicious claims and provides the adjusters with facts and results of investigations conducted on losses with potential fraud indicators.

  • Investigates potentially suspicious claims, takes in-person statements, scene and vehicle inspections, verifies documents and attends or takes examinations under oath (EUO’s).

  • Builds relationships and works with law enforcement agencies, attorneys and other related agencies for the purpose of thorough investigations.

  • Reviews files with Directors/Adjusters to determine whether an SIU investigation is warranted and make recommendations to claims personnel regarding the appropriate action needed to resolve the claim.

  • Recognizes, tracks and reports patterns of suspicious claims activities to appropriate authorities.

  • Assists the management in the training of company personnel.

  • Attends SIU related functions to obtain information relative to industry matters.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical journals/procedures, and financial reports and data. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of financial, legal and technical information.

  • Ability to prioritize activities and projects while staying organized.

  • Knowledge of law enforcement and investigations, a background in law enforcement or insurance fraud investigations is preferred.

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, some PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.

  • Ability to work independently, think creatively and exercise strong, sound judgment.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to process high volumes of work, while meeting deadlines.
