Working collaboratively with area leadership, the position supports the college meeting federal and state requirements for institutions of higher education. The position utilizes collection/analysis/reporting tools to support the college’s mission and operations. The position provides useful data in understandable and presentable formats to college administrators, faculty, and staff for decision-making and informational purposes. The emphasis for this position is on data collection/analysis/reporting, supporting targeted student outreach and retention efforts, and assisting the office of Institutional Planning, Research, and Effectiveness with administrative and project-related duties as needed. This position reports to the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness.

Duties:
  • Conducts research for the college including but not limited to economic trends, enrollments, demographics, and performance metrics.
  • Responds to ad hoc requests.
  • Compiles, manipulates, and analyzes data sets using a variety of software and data extraction tools.
  • Creates custom dashboards and institutional research reports from a database environment.
  • Works with faculty and staff to develop surveys and analyze results.
  • Assists with program health reviews, institutional planning, assessment, and accreditation activities.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and implement targeted student outreach campaigns focused on success and retention.
  • Provides training on SignalVine, Starfish, and other early alert software to promote collegewide awareness of how we can leverage communication tools to support retention and success.
  • Provides outreach services to students by e-mail and text campaigns.
  • Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Provides support for the College’s multi-year and annual strategic planning processes.
  • Assists in reporting state and federal data for the College and collaborates with faculty and staff to use the results of the data to improve programs and services.
  • Assists the dean in providing systematic reports to president, provost, and other personnel.
  • Supports grant development by assisting principal investigators, faculty, staff and consultants in pursuing public and private funding sources that align with the mission and goals of the College.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Social Science, Statistics, or related field) and two years of related experience, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel.
  • Master’s degree (related field) preferred.
