Job Summary
The Sr. Purchasing Agent will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. They will assist in managing the inventory of materials for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, suppliers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Maintains item listing in CSI database for supplies and materials used.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered from PO; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process.
- Works closely with the Finance Team
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field.
- 7 - 10 years of increasing experience in purchasing and/or inventory control management experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
- May require travel.
