What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Crew position at Blythe Development Co?
Blythe Development Co is looking to expand our Utility Division and is looking for the following: Pipe Layers, Heavy Equipment Operators and General Laborers.
PIPE LAYER
A pipe layer is responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm and sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible of operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
LABORER
A General Laborer performs tasks involving strenuous physical labor on highway and heavy construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble, debris and remove waste materials. The Laborer must maintain a clean and secure job site (pick up tools/equipment) to eliminate potential hazards; must ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and bring any problems to the attention of a Supervisor.
Physical Demands
-Regularly works near moving machinery/tools which requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina.
-Must be able to push, pull, or carry objects (over 50 lbs.), use legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
-Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and climb ladders
