Role description and opportunities (describe the role and opportunity)
We are looking for a candidate who can bring a modern approach to design for the BNY Mellon brand through a relentless drive to explore every angle of a design challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing visually compelling and breakthrough designs across media and platforms
Constant evolution, seeking to set a new bar for design excellence on every project
Exploration, striving to express ideas in innovative, yet intuitive ways
Concepting, designing, and providing direction for modern data visualization, infographics, and other visual storytelling assets
Strong design fundamentals, including composition, typography, color, iconography
The ability to produce work that is ambitious but remains conceptual and focused down to the smallest details
A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
Possess both strategic and effective marketing and communication skills to help drive projects with Marketing managers
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced, results-driven, team-oriented environment
Experience working within and supporting marketing teams
5-8 years of total work experience within financial services, advertising, marketing industry is preferred
Digital design skills are primary but extend to creating for offline and experiential
A strong understanding of web/social media best practices and trends
Ability to work within brand guidelines while always seeking to innovate and evolve
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively under strict timelines
Can shepherd projects from concept phase through to final release
Strong presentation abilities; Able to clearly articulate design decisions to a variety of partners
Can interface easily and fluently with colleagues in UX and tech and partners across the firm
Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch (After Effects and Premiere a plus)
