We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist for our Harrison, OH office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In this role, you will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair on centrifugal compression and auxiliary equipment at the Harrison Compressor Station. You will perform DOT, Environmental and Safety compliance activities on Harrison’s pipeline and compressor facilities and will be responsible for maintaining all tools and equipment assigned to this position. Additionally, you will be an advocate of safe work practices and be willing to serve as the lead on various projects, operate the Harrison Compressor facilities in a safe and efficient manner and will have the additional responsibilities to operate the station and be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to pipeline/compressor activities. You will also be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response and will be expected to acquire Operator Qualification tasks and ECP skills necessary to become proficient and qualified. Lastly, you will be responsible for regulatory compliance, operations and maintenance/repair procedures as associated with the DOT and will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures. This position will have the additional responsibilities to operate the station and be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to pipeline/compressor activities. Normal work hours are 7:00a – 3:30p EST Monday – Friday; however this role is subject to occasional schedule adjustments as needed.
The successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of the Harrison Compressor Station located at 10250 Dry Fork Rd. in Harrison, OH in order to handle call outs and emergency responses appropriately.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
*Basic mechanical, electrical and technical skills
*Previous job duties in these areas
*Trouble shooting and analyzing skills
*Ability to research engine manuals, electrical prints and pipe drawings
*Physical requirements: standing/walking, climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolds, and bending/stooping/squatting
*Ability to lift and carry items 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
*Working conditions: exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures and enclosed spaces
*Strong computer skills
*Excellent verbal communication skills
*Problem solving skills and ability to manage filing system
*History of safe work
*Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
*Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
*High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
*Automation/Control Skills
*Familiar with DOT 192 regulations
*Experience working with natural gas pipeline and compressor facilities
*Previous work experience working with small teams
*Operating experience as a controller on some type of equipment, taking readings, daily checks, calling and communicating flow rates, etc.
*Strong background in the electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation field
*College or technical degree in a related field
