Software Engineer (SW1-4)
DESCRIPTION:
Boarhog LLC is seeking conscientious, energetic Software Engineers to become "plank owner" members of a new multi-company Software Engineering Team responsible for designing, developing, operating and maintaining software, firmware components, or computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with solutions or products that also encompass non-information technology related engineering or scientific disciplines. Applies the appropriate software standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system life cycle to support the generation of multi-disciplinary solutions and products such as intelligence tasking, control, exploitation and dissemination; command and control; situational awareness; digital signal processing; and modeling and simulation. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel. Cybersecurity specialist, HSI design support, network engineer, security engineer are included in this job family.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Multiple Software Engineering positions are open at four (4) experience levels:
· Junior (SW1): Assists more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.
· Mid (SW2): Performs all functional duties independently.
· Senior (SW3): Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
· SME (SW4): Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges/issues.
EXPERIENCE:
Education beyond minimum may qualify as experience.
· Junior (SW1): Less than 3 years.
· Mid (SW2): 3 to 7 years.
· Senior (SW3): 7 to 12 years
· SME (SW4): 12 plus years. Qualifications and/or particular expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique, typically identified as recognized Industry leaders for a given area of expertise.
EDUCATION:
Minimum BA/BS in Engineering. Equivalent experience beyond minimum may substitute for education.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CONSIDERATIONS:
· The position requires a Top-Secret clearance. As such, an acceptable candidate must possess an active TS clearance and be SCI Eligible. Boarhog's Facility Security Officer will request and receive the SCI Eligibility determination from vetting prior to Boarhog issuing a contingent offer letter.
· Preference will be given to candidates who reside in a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) area. See SBA website for HUBZone locations.
LOCATION:
For the first three months of contract startup and possibly up to the first 6 months after startup, the full Systems Engineering team will initially be hosted in the Sterling VA facility, including being provided with desks, workstations, phones, SCIF space, classified and unclassified network access, clearance crossovers, etc. It is also possible that engineering positions could be hosted in the Sterling VA facility beyond the initial 6 months if desired. After the first 3 to 6 months the location requirement will be relaxed, with various locations open for consideration.
