This entry-level role requires no previous expertise, as we provide comprehensive training that will equip you with a deep understanding of all XRF scanning operations. You'll become a troubleshooting maestro, ensuring smooth daily data flow to our esteemed Geological Data Services team, clients, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities that await you:
- Conduct onsite core scanning using Boart Longyear's state-of-the-art XRF technology, the TruScan system.
- Meticulously clean, inspect, and organize all the core materials to be scanned on-site.
- Foster effective communication channels between Geoscientists, client geologists, and drill crews, actively seeking training opportunities and valuable feedback.
- Provide support in equipment repairs and troubleshooting, with the option to seek guidance from supervisors when needed.
- Facilitate seamless database upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities between the site and storage locations, including generating and scheduling waybills, preparing customs documents, and coordinating courier pick-ups.
- Share your expertise by providing training and support to drilling contractors, as well as geologists and technicians from mining companies on the utilization of the TruScan system.
- Actively contribute to meetings and discussions with management, including participating in monthly gatherings with the North American team.
- Uphold the utmost data integrity standards, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Demonstrate and maintain exemplary safety practices that exceed client expectations.
- Regularly review and analyze spectra and images from projects, promptly identifying and reporting operational and data quality issues to geologists.
- Prepare daily scan reports that meticulously outline any pertinent issues and conditions impacting tasks.
- Support mobilization and demobilization activities, including commissioning and integration/testing of new technologies and software in the workshop.
- Assist with sample preparation and maintenance, particularly with regards to pucks.
