Accountabilities:

1. Analyze forecast and production schedule data to maintain plant and vendor inventory levels, and optimize dollars in inventory.
2. Creates, updates and cancels Purchase Orders for all direct raw materials (excluding meat products) supplied to the Xenia and Hillsdale production plants.
3. Confirms and updates pricing on Purchase Orders to match supplier agreements.
4. Ensures raw material inventory optimization at both facilities.
5. Interacts with external supplier contacts to resolve any issues with material quality, supplier reliability and pricing.
6. Partners with internal and external resources through all phases of new and updated packaging design and ingredient initiatives.
7. Coordinates material needs to meet weekly and daily production schedule requirements.
8. Partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Marketing teams on cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives for raw materials. Identify cost savings opportunities and help execute as approved.
9. Analyzes and provides forecasts on planned material usage to suppliers as required.
10. Periodically travels to the Hillsdale, MI plant and the New Albany, OH office.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge:

• Ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize, maintains confidentiality, and interacts with all levels of management across the organization and our supply base.
• Ability to utilize reports and data within a business application to manage all Purchase Order and related transactions.
• General knowledge of commodity markets
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and experience.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, and Excel)

Education/Experience:

• 1-3 years of purchasing/buying experience with perishable goods experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Working experience with Oracle Business Suite and /or Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) preferred.
