Job Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial records of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting audits, and supporting budget preparation and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a small team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Weekly input of payroll data / collaboration and follow up with applicable payroll agencies.
2. Accounts Management
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
4. Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
5. Record Keeping
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
6. IT Management and Support
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of company computers, printers, office equipment; work with vendors and consultants as needed to support manufacturing operations and services.
7. Collaboration
- Work closely with other staff / departments to support financial decision-making and strategic planning.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field desired; will consider an associate’s degree with applicable experience.
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or textile environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting IBM software (AS 400) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
