Boeing is seeking experienced Aviation Maintenance Technicians and Inspectors to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations and inspections on production and experimental aircraft (both military and commercial) prior to, during and post flight test activities in support of our BT&E Flight Test Operations in WA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform production installations, maintenance, preventative maintenance and alterations on aircraft structure, systems and sub-systems, including electrical and avionics on standard or experimental certificated aircraft.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and engine systems to prepare aircraft for flight
- Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures
- Perform Aviation Maintenance Technician Inspection tasks in order to obtain and maintain knowledge, skills and required certifications
- Perform audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
- Perform Quality functions such as: Customer/FAA Coordination, Configuration Change Verification, Conformity Inspections, Airworthiness Inspections (including Pre-flight and Post-flights), Corrective Action and Investigations
- Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures
- Use technical specifications, sketches, manuals, drawings, engineering instructions and FAA forms and publications to accomplish work assignment
- Maintain Company and FAA required records and inspection forms
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
- Plan and organize the sequence of your own work package in such a way as to promote safe, efficient operation and meet predetermined schedules in a timely manner
- Operate any and all types of information systems required to perform assigned tasks; including but not limited to Company WEB based systems and Microsoft Office products
- Interpret and perform to the requirements of airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters and other approved/accepted data
- Apply applicable mathematical calculations to setup and use precision measuring tools, to measure gaps, heights, angles, hole diameters and depths
- Make production aids to facilitate work assignment
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
- Exchange information with suppliers, customers or other company representatives to explain or demonstrate operations, tests or difficulties
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Must be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience on active complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background.
- Must be willing and able to frequently lift items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to stand for frequent periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to perform tasks that require frequent climbing, crawling, kneeling, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing and other related activities.
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must be willing and able to work any shift, overtime and holidays as required.
- Must be willing and able to work on both Commercial and Military aircraft as required.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Preferred to have an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Minimum 5 years of Flight Line experience working on active complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background.
- Preferred to have an FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification/License or FAA Repairman Certificate.
Travel:
Position will require travel up to 10% of the time.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift:
This position is for 2nd shift.
Additional Information:
Candidates must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
