The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to be part of our Mission Systems Software team in Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Job responsibilities include overall management and direction for Mission Systems Agile software teams, providing support to existing and future programs, including new business, proposal development, and IR&D activities. The responsibilities include Control Account Management (CAM) which consists of technical, cost, and schedule performance for the Agile Teams/subsystems.
This team within BDS is a development and sustainment organization for Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) such as 767 AWACS, 737 Airborne Early Warning & Control Aircraft and the next generation product-line. These aircraft represent the world’s standard for airborne early warning and control systems, filling the need for both command and control functions for tactical and air defense forces. The next generation product-line is Open Mission Software (OMS) Battle Management Command & Control (BMC2) Software for CDA projects (AEWC, AWACS replacements). The BMC2 team develops mission software to integrate sensors, communication systems, self-protect suites, weapon systems, data links, battle management tools, and other crew user interface functions for the CDA systems.
The organization is seeking leaders that manage the software engineers to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Performs software project management and software supplier management functions. Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secrete U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance Post-Start.

Summary pay range for Manager: $141,950.00 - $192,050.00
