The Bohemian Club has a variety of events, from small high-end intimate dinners to large banquet events serving up to 650 people. This dynamic allows for an ever changing, exciting work environment. *This position is a Local 2 union represented position and requires one to pay monthly union dues to Local 2 to stay actively employed at the Club.
Job Summary
- All kitchen staff are required to be ServSafe certified and/or obtain a California food handlers' card
- Schedule is full time. You can expect 8-4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday & the occasional Friday. Tuesday and Thursdays will be 12 p.m.-9 p.m. You are expected to work additional evenings when events require it.
- Creates, cooks, and serves the cold or hot buffet
- Creates a positive work environment for line cooks through respect and morale.
- Assists in some aspects of ordering when requested.
- Ensures quality food service is always provided.
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- A person who is hired for this position must be fluent in the workings of the private club foodservice establishment.
- High standard of excellence when it comes to work ethics.
- The person filling this position should be well educated, having a minimum of five years' field experience through clubs, hotels, or restaurants in good standing.
- Previous country club experience a plus, but is not required
Uniform Requirements
- Partial Uniform Provided - Chef Jacket and Checkered Pants
- Employees are required to have black work shoes with non-slip soles.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for 8-12 hours. Be able to tolerate hot and cold conditions on service line. Must be able to kneel down, bend over and stand up many times during a shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
