Learn organization's policies, products, and/or services in preparation for sales/management responsibilities. Acquire knowledge of division and industry practices through on-the-job training in each department of the location.
- Yard and Warehouse: Loading and unloading shipment of materials, filling customer orders, acquiring basic product knowledge, and developing knowledge of customer quality expectations.
- Administration: Daily cash report preparation, daily summary preparation, posting to customer ledger, and profit and loss statement analyses.
- Credit: Familiarization with procedure for opening new accounts, credit limits, understanding terms of sale, accounts receivable aging analysis, and collection of problem accounts.
- Purchase and Inventory Control: Develop an understanding of administrative functions.
- Employee Relations: Location safety program, accident and injury report preparation, monthly safety summary preparation, familiarity with safety goals and programs, understanding affirmative action goals and diversity.
Complete special projects as needed. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Ability to work well with team members.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the building materials industry a plus.
