Responsibilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of produce (seasonality, organic/no spray, identify varieties, ripeness)
- Stock, rotate and merchandise products in the Produce Department following department procedures
- Make produce value-added items to meet quality, portion, and time standards
- Use equipment and materials properly; adhere to all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation
- Clearly identify bar codes, shelf tags, expiration dates, and invoices
- Prioritize time to ensure that prep work, stocking, cleaning, and customer service are handled efficiently
- Keep your department orderly and clean; report potentially unsafe conditions; observe safety and security procedures
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor
Requirements
- Knife skills related to prep work in a kitchen setting required
- Experience in a grocery or retail setting preferred
- Ability to smell for inspecting product and sanitation standards
- Food safety certification from the State of Idaho strongly preferred
- Must be committed to providing excellent customer service
- Able and willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to build relationships, learn quickly, and maintain strong interpersonal skills
- Delivers world class customer service to all guests by discovering and responding to their needs
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must comply with all departmental policies and procedures
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
