Come join our 30 year success story as the Purchasing Manager of BME Firetrucks. This is a unique opportunity to oversee the purchasing operations for a growth-oriented OEM fire apparatus and emergency vehicle supplier. You will be responsible for a team of agents, sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers.

Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing team to ensure goals and projected savings are met.
- Revamp, lead and execute purchasing strategies that adhere to set measurable goals
- Key metrics to be tracked and reported on to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft and coach negotiation strategies with the team to help close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with management to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Risks to be assessed, managed and mitigated
- Source out and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Assist in creating custom bills of materials
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand - ensure production keeps moving
Skills
- Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
- Proven negotiation and networking skills
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with different units of measure
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus
