What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Bombay Velvet?
Our fine-dine Indian restaurant is looking for professional, polished, and active staff members to help make the experience of our guests optimal. Each team member plays an invaluable role and helps make the whole system work. ***We require a minimum of 1 year for this position. Compensation commensurate with experience.
The host/hostess has various responsibilities, including but not limited to, the following:
- Greets and seats guests with menu
- Treats all guests in an appropriate manner
- Answers phone calls/takes to-go orders
- Makes reservations on our Touch Bistro System (training provided, if necessary)
- Keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
- Takes guest information and makes them aware of the available time for the next available seating, as necessary
- Cleans and organizes menus at host area - anticipates of how many menus are necessary in preparation for reservations
- Interacts with guests as they leave the restaurant
- Maintains cleanliness of hostess area and sweeps front entrance area frequently
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- Restaurant Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
