Job Description: Facility Technician
FLSA Status: Full time Non-Exempt, hourly 35 hours/week

Immediate Supervisor: Facilities Coordinator

Location: Onsite at 2531 Buford Road

Principal Functions: The Facility Technician will perform various repairs and technical work and support the Facilities team with other maintenance requirements of the facility.

Responsibilities:

General

• Provide knowledge for repairs on various systems and devices including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and construction.
• Help staff with proper cleaning methods, machine use, and safety.
• Help staff to perform minor maintenance i.e., painting, plumbing, bulb replacement, etc.
• Help staff to perform landscaping duties and snow removal.
• Provide advisement on recommended facility repairs and when there is a need for contractors to perform more complex work.
• Assist Facilities Coordinator with managing contractors and vendors.
• Ensure personal, staff, and visitor safety when performing all work and activity planning.
• Perform custodial tasks and facility/room setups for church activities and other duties as needed.

Specific

• Perform intermediate level work to evaluate when a professional contractor is required.
• Perform intermediate level of “handyperson” maintenance work and repairs around the facility, e.g., electrical work, carpentry, plumbing repairs, HVAC troubleshooting, painting, flooring, door, and window hardware, etc.
• Research potential repair procedures if unsure of complexity of task.
• Self-manage time and work priorities based on urgency of tasks.
• Assist with facility cleaning, room and facility setup/take down for church events.

Requirements:

• High School diploma
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to work on ladders and man lift
• Potentially walk several miles a day around facility
• A generalist position, no certifications required. General building, contractor, and repair knowledge is required.
• Work hours: 5 days a week with rotating Sunday schedule. Schedule adjustments will be needed based on facility/event requirements.

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
