Our company is currently seeking a Design Manager to join our team!
Job Responsibilities:
Summary: Leads the Bonded Design Team to produce high quality, complete lightning protection and grounding design submittal packages for our field installation Divisions and Customers. This position manages our AutoCAD program; supports in areas of technical and standards information and decision making; and builds the team through organizational health by performing essential duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold Company Mission and Core Values throughout job responsibilities.
- Leads the Design Team in organizational health, daily projects, training, development, etc.
- Knowledge and training of Bonded’s products/services, procedures, and all lightning protection standards.
- Communicate directly with Engineers, Architects, etc. as needed, via various means, regarding project specifications and layouts for lightning protection and grounding.
- Coordinate project list workload as needed flexing employees in different areas to meet customer deadlines.
- Directly assist and plan for large project designs, revisions, and as-builts.
- Collaborate with Project Coordination Team to request information, clarify contradictions in documents, communicate on deadlines, and problem solve.
- Monitor the design submittal, revision, and as-built reports regularly to confirm work is being completed in a timely manner and customer deadlines are being met consistently.
- Monitor other design department tasks (ASI review, RFI’s, Approvals, etc.) as needed for efficient workflow throughout the department.
- Manages the AutoCAD library for changes to details, parts, etc.
- Final quality review for submittals prior to submitting to our customer.
- Review monthly design reports for production, efficiency, quality assurance and employee work performance.
- Monitor and support training and development of employees through our training programs, job site visits, organizational health, and personal development tools, etc.
Requirements:
- Pass a criminal background and drug screen.
- Fluent in English with the ability to read and write.
- Strong ability to collaborate with and lead a team.
- Ability to supervise and engage personnel in varying work environments (in-office and remote).
- Ability to read construction drawings, details, and specifications.
- Possess excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Windows, Electronic plans, and Project Management software.
- Experience in construction industry. Knowledge of lightning protection industry and/or lightning protection and grounding standards is a plus.
- Degree preferred with related experience, or equivalent experience in the construction industry.
