Estimator – Landscaping
The Estimator position provides the estimation of Projects and collaborating with the Design Team to develop budgets and cost of new and current Projects.
- Review projects with designers to develop scope of work for both internal crews and sub- contractors.
- Develop preliminary budgets, opinions of probable cost thru the design process.
- Prepare construction contracts using Proposal Manager in Asset program.
- Use and prepare on-screen takeoff software to assist in establishing budgets and contracts.
- Establish and development of on-going relationships with vendors and sub-contractors in order to obtain quick and accurate pricing.
- Prepare change orders for projects under construction. Manage bid log and project change order logs.
- Monitor and update data base of contract items (Catalog Manager in Asset program)
- Participate in pre-construction meetings with designer and production project managers.
- Participate in post-construction review to monitor sub-contractor costs and labor performance and identify areas of improvement work under the Garden Managers to oversee the production of a multiple task environment
- Coordinate, implement, and supervise all phases of Estimation for project completion.
- Ability to read architectural plans, blueprints and technical drawings.
- Develop & maintain good working relations with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the entire project.
- Lead by example, encourage teamwork, and promote the Bonick philosophy.
- Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concerns or detailed attention areas for the project.
Experience:
- Must have 2 years of Estimating experience
- Experience with means & methods of landscape construction, planting, irrigation, drainage pools, outdoor kitchens, structures, etc.
- Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of landscape design process, creating base maps, conceptual designs.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Asset Software Experience a plus
- QuickMeasure On-Screen Takeoffs
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Must be able to read and interpret landscape plans and specifications
- Must be able to travel to project job sites.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal.
