What You’ll Do: You’ll be the people person on the scene // the organizer behind the scenes!
The aim of this position is to manage, educate, and excite people about Boochcraft from behind the bar; turning customers into fans through the Boochcraft experience at Boochcraft’s Tap Rooms in Del Mar Highlands and Normal heights. The taproom manager is the face of Boochcraft. They are responsible for the overall guest experience as well as the daily operations and maintenance of the taproom. Key responsibilities will include overseeing staffing, inventory control, loss prevention, training, POS operation and knowledge.
This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
This is a full-time non-exempt position that may regularly require long hours and frequent weekend and holiday work.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 years’ experience in a lead or management position for a taproom, bar, restaurant, or food service environment.
- 2 years of experience in scheduling and employee management
- Must be available to work at least 5 days per week including nights, weekends & holidays.
- Experience with working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while remaining calm and organized
- Proactive thinking and creative problem solving that maintains Boochcraft’s position as the leading hard kombucha brand in San Diego and beyond
- Requires strong verbal communication skills
- Punctual, enthusiastic, honest, and reliable
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Company operations, safety, finance, and human resource documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from guests with grace and humor.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general tech equipment and software

- Serve alcohol responsibly by adhering to all Company policies, local, state, and federal regulations concerning the sale of alcohol.
- Maintain and enforce daily cleanliness of the Del Mar and Normal Heights Tap Rooms, draft cooler, and surrounding areas.
- Hire, schedule, train, and manage all Boochtender staff for Del Mar and Normal Heights Tap Rooms.
- Ensure Boochtenders have a deep knowledge of all the flavors on tap, ingredients used, and other USPs for the product, events, and procedures.
- Provide innovative and critical thinking around building Tap Room revenue at both locations, including creating and activating events, outreach to third parties to drive additional foot traffic via hosting corporate events
- Provide feedback and insight on performance of Innovation flavors to senior leadership via sales data points and anecdotal consumer interactions
- Maintain and accurately update sales trackers, inventory management/keg yield trackers and innovation flavor/stage gate documents
- Close collaboration with the marketing department to deliver creative solutions and suggestions that deliver increased revenue to both locations
- Make sure Boochtenders are pouring and serving Booch in the appropriate manner.
- Maintain inventory of all kegs, cans, bottles, Crowlers (lids/labels), glassware, merchandise. Ensure to order as needed.
- POS System Knowledge, maintenance troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Open and close cash register and POS system daily during hours of operation and train shift leaders to complete the same in your absence
- Reduce operational costs by staffing the taproom appropriately, minimizing waste and making sure staff are fulfilling their responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to perform physical activities which include but are not limited to lifting, bending over, kneeling, twisting, climbing on ladders, stooping, crouching, and routinely lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Candidates may be required to stand for various hours at a time.
Travel: Employee is expected to travel as business needs dictate, which should be limited (less than 10% travel).
