Mechanical Engineering Technician, Mid

Key Role:

Provide technical support for the assembly and testing of weapon systems. Construct developmental and production models and weapon assemblies. Review, analyze, and apply engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures for engineering assignments. Conduct tests and experiments following standard setups and procedures. Extract and compile data from field notes, technical manuals, lab reports and bench tests. Consolidates information about operational failures and modifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering technician 
  • Knowledge of shop safety and proper usage of basic hand tools, powered hand tools, pneumatic hand tools, and basic inspection tools
  • Ability to support weapon assemblies including disassembly, reassembly, and developing and updating technical data to effectively restore equipment to operational readiness
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and report on weapon system testing
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with extracting and compiling data from field notes and technical manuals
  • Ability to work in a complex team environment
  • Secret clearance
  • AA or AS degree
