Job Description Job Title:Muntin Department:IG Glass Reports to:IG Glass Supervisor Supervises:N/A FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Date:10/9/2018 Job Code: 100832 Shape JOB SUMMARY The Muntin Bar Assembler is responsible for putting a strip of aluminum separating and holding panes of glass in a window. This role is in charge of putting the muntins between adjoining window units. The muntins are the narrow strips that divide the individual pane of glass in a traditional sash. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs operations on machinery according to schedule. Comply with Boral Safety Policies. Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Assembles units or parts and positions, fastens, and aligns units to assemblies by using various hand and power tools. Aligns parts properly. Follow assembly process requirements. Software and computer skills knowledge. Operate in a SAP environment. Perform other duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and instructions. equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures. Use power tools, equipment, and all other industrial machinery. Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude. Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful). Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to hear audible noises. Ability to distinguish basic colors. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out. Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable. Prolong standing for up to 12 hours performing shift work or in a stationary position. Complete repetitive movements. Bend or twist. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Work in constant noise above 85 decibels. Handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Lift/move up to 50 pounds. Remove or replace items up to 50 pounds. Ascend or descend stairs.
