Job purpose The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) is responsible for collaboration with engineering and manufacturing to improve design robustness, process robustness, and ensure project compliance. The AQE is actively involved in the design and development process of the product and supports launch activities at manufacturing locations. AQE provides quality leadership in customer requirement management, prototype builds and pre-production builds. AQE leads and provides oversight for the quality and co-release of products, including working cross-functionally with internal and external teams to ensure product and processes are compliant with applicable standards, regulations and customer expectations. The AQE supports Design for Value, Design for Six Sigma process, and product problem solving efforts. The AQE will also lead lessons learned, read –across and continuous improvement projects to support world class quality product development. Key responsibilities Core project team member, representing quality and assuring quality on product; this will include verification of engineering and manufacturing deliverables according to the program plan Responsible for achieving quality objectives in the project in the design and development phase Create Prototype Control Plan, considering customer, durability and reliability requirements and managing special characteristics throughout the product development cycle Implement and lead design robustness activities using Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools and methods Assesses and verifies test methods in verification and validation phase Evaluates design concept and participate in design review to meet quality objectives Using statistical techniques to create MSA verification, sampling plans and execute data analysis Supports Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA & PFMEA), assures that associated risks are monitored and actions are defined to mitigate risk. Will act as FMEA facilitator for key programs. Conduct lessons learned, read-across workshops and verifies that Global Design Guidelines are updated Estimates reliability targets using historical data Conduct Critical to Quality Validation (CQT-Validation) prior to design release Works with plants to support and/or lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities What we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in engineering 3 years of experience in automotive development and prototyping Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (Shainin, 8D, DFSS, DMAIC experience helpful) Broad understanding and application of statistics and risk assessment tools (Minitab experience desired) Test method development and validation experience Lean Six Sigma experience, leading Green Belt or Black Belt projects New product development and introduction experience Excellent attention to detail and process/system orientation What we offer Medical and prescription drug insurance Dental and vision insurance Retirement Savings Plan (401k) Life Insurance Paid Parental Leave Adoption & IVF Assistance Company Paid Holidays Company Paid Vacation Tuition Assistance Onsite Wellness Center with Nurse Practitioner Hybrid Work Environment What we believe Inclusion - We value diversity in people, ideas, and experiences.
