What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer position at Borough of Bellwood?
Our organization requires a police officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years' experience as a police officer, will be trained in use of firearms and in self-defense tactics, and will be competent when handling stressful situations. The position requires enforcing local, state and federal laws and is an excellent opportunity for an individual to make a positive impact in their community.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce the law.
- Monitor and control traffic.
- Provide assistance to citizens in an emergency situation.
- Be fair, respectful, and polite to citizens.
- Make arrests based on probable cause.
- Demonstrate good judgment when faced with potentially dangerous situations.
- Be highly organized and well-prepared for various situations.
- Provide effective leadership and influence over others in the department.
Requirements:
- Must pass a physical agility test.
- Must pass a written Civil Service Test
- Must be 21 years of age on or before date of employment.
- Must be Act 120 certified.
- Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be physically an mentally fit for the full duties of a Police Officer
- Must agree to psychological and physical examinations if offered employment.
