SUMMARY:Develops, conducts and evaluates health education programs. Researches, develops, designs and/or writes health education materials. Develops, conducts and advises related support groups. Develops and implements health education courses; conducts outreach programs. Coordinates publicity for programs, events, and related activities. Develops and maintains information concerning services pertaining to health education and health concerns. Provides skill training related to health issues.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide health education sessions.2. Develop and present health education and promotion programs such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations.3. Develop operational plans necessary to achieve health education objectives and services.4. Prepare and distribute health education materials, including reports, bulletins, and visual aids such as films, videotapes, photographs, and posters.5. Provide health education program information to the public by developing brochures, flyers and promotional materials.6. Develop and maintain health education libraries to provide resources for staff and patients.7. Document activities, recording information such as the numbers of classes completed, presentations conducted, and persons assisted.8. Maintain databases, mailing lists, telephone networks, and other information to facilitate the functioning of health education programs.9. Participate in outreach events.10. Collaborate with other health agencies, to promote health education in the community.11. Provide group educational sessions or one on one session as needed.12. Data entry of selected health indicators and health education classes.13. Perform other duties as assigned.
