Description:
The parts courier will procure and transport parts from vendors to the warehouse and job sites. He/she will work directly with administrative and field maintenance employees to ensure equipment is properly maintained and necessary inventory is on hand when required. The courier will help maintain the warehouse, assist installation/service departments as needed, and any other jobs assigned by management.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty, and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but is not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or equivalent experience as a parts courier.
1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery.
1.4. Valid Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record.
1.5. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and parts courier.
1.6. Must be able to drive a forklift.
1.7. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule, which may require over-time.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Receive and Unload material or parts and store them in the Storeroom as required.
2.2. Receive in AX all documents for deliveries throughout the plant.
2.3. Maintain records, such as quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced.
2.4. Turn in weekly logs of parts orders, inventory items on hand and inventory needs.
2.5. Obtain/return parts, supplies and equipment orders from various vendors.
2.6. Coordinate activities with field maintenance coworkers, management, and administrative coworkers to reduce non-production travel times.
2.7. Operate forklift for loading and offloading equipment.
2.8. Employee must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work area must be free and clear of debris.
2.9. Employee will assist in the verification of all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
2.10. Assists in Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.
2.11. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3.2. Employee must report to Maintenance Facilities Manager for briefing on daily tasks.
3.3. Load, unload and verify material.
3.4. Contact requester of their deliveries and dispatch the item.
3.5. Ensure that materials meet their min – max for stock.
3.6. Assist in inventory control when needed.
3.7. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.8. Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop an operation if he/she deems it necessary, for reasons of imminent safety and/or possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify the Operations Supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended period.
