Boss, Inc. is recruiting for a Controller to work for a client in Virginia Beach. The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of a residential home builder and third-party contractor. The position will also oversee risk management for multiple entities. This position is responsible for financial related business systems, operating / capital expenses, cash control, protecting assets of the companies.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist executive management in treasury functions including the management of relationships with lender institutions.
- Provide timely strategic financial information to executive team
- Oversee and or process payroll and related payroll journal entries
- Work with insurance broker to maintain proper business insurance coverage.
- Create and present financial statements
- Provide cash management such as cash projections
- Maintain relationships with account representative for banks. Respond to financial information requests from banker.
- Request Letter of Credits from banks.
- Manage and prepare budgets
- Work with vendor to make sure proper insurance coverage is maintained.
- Provide trial balances and supporting documentation to tax firm
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of the accounting process from cash to financial statements to month and year-end close to tax returns.
- Ability to prepare accurate, timely financial statements. Knowledge of management financial statements, as well as, GAAP financial statements. Construction accounting knowledge a plus.
- Multi-Entity experience necessary. Understanding of Intercompany accounting required. Consolidations, joint venture knowledge helpful.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Adherence to GAAP or modified tax accounting necessary.
- Budgeting and forecasting knowledge and experience. Experience managing annual budgets a must.
- Accounting Software systems knowledge and oversight. Experience working with integrated software systems very helpful. Demonstrated understanding of Import / Export feature necessary. Timberline a plus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
