What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bay Area Business Managment Director/Senior Director position at Boston Consulting Group?
The Bay Area Business Management Director functions as the lead business manager for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices and serves as the "right hand" to the Office Leader.
Through leadership of the staffing function, the BMD is responsible for optimizing the deployment of BCG consulting resources to meet the business needs of the offices, system and region, while ensuring that each BCG consulting staff member in the office receives the right set of development opportunities throughout his/her career.
Together with the OL, the West System Lead and Managing Director and Partners in the offices, the BMD manages the full employment life cycle of each member of the BCG non-MDP consulting team. In addition to staffing, these activities include oversight and administration of the professional development processes (career development, career path, training, transition, Teaming etc.), affiliation/retention programs, recruiting, pyramid management, and the execution of other programs related to the career and development of the BCG Consulting Team. The BMD helps to ensure that the office has the right number of people with the appropriate and relevant skills required to meet the current and future needs of our business. All of the above will be performed in concert with priorities and objectives of all business units (X, PLA, TDA) directly affiliated with the offices, with a commitment to a “One BCG” mindset.

As a member of the NABLT (North America Business Leadership Team), the BMD will work closely with a wide range of constituents to pilot new programs, drive regional change efforts, coordinate initiatives and to develop, implement, execute and interpret programs and policies related to all local staff.
The individual will report directly to the Bay Area Office Leader and will have responsibility for championing a OneBCG culture for the 375 individuals located in the Bay Area office and 50 individuals in Silicon Valley.
