Boston University School of Law is seeking a candidate to serve as Associate Professor of Law (non-tenure-track) and Director of the Academic Enrichment Program. This position is a full-time, non-tenured, faculty position. The Director will: 1) implement and expand on‐going programming for all 1L students, which includes one‐on‐one academic coaching, and legal skills workshops; 2) develop and implement academic enrichment programming specifically targeted to meet the needs of upper-level students, which may include one-on-one academic enrichment and upper-level writing and research courses; 3) develop academic achievement strategies specifically aimed at students from racial and socio-economic groups that are historically underrepresented in law schools and the legal profession, who face challenges different from other students; 4) oversee and implement Bar exam preparation courses and initiatives, including Bar Skills classes, year-long Bar Workshops and an individualized Bar Mentoring Program; 4) continue to develop and expand the Academic Enrichment Program to improve student outcomes based on data‐driven research.
Required Skills
Candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a strong academic record and excellent oral and written communication skills. Teaching and counseling experiences in a law school setting are preferred. We are interested in candidates who will bring perspective that comes from a nontraditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of those underrepresented in higher education.
