Overview
Project Manager (NCOMSLS):
Bowhead is seeking a Project Manager for the upcoming NAVAIR Command Strategic Leadeship Support Services effort located in Crystal City, VA. The NAVAIR Command Strategic Leadeship Support Services program will focus on researching on the current philosophy and strategic initiatives within the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DoN), and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) including the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) as well as the other services. The Project Manager ensures the project procedures and controls are followed, manage the manning and staffing of project efforts, and lead problem resolution efforts.
Responsibilities
- Interface with system or program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of the programs/projects.
- Analyze and coordinate the schedule, timeline, procurement, staffing, and budget of a product or service on a per project basis.
- Lead and guide the work of technical staff.
- May serve as a point of contact for the client or customer.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- BS or BA degree in Business Management. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: an AS or AA degree in Business or Project Management and eight (8) years of experience in business administration.
- At least 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory/lead experience required, including financial management and admin activities experience.
- Experience performing complex evaluations of existing procedures, processes, communication techniques, models, and/or systems related to management problems for a Chief of Staff for a major Legislative or Department of Defense (DoD) Echelon Command / Secretariat.
- Experience supporting a Navy or Marine Corps Command Element preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SECNAV, OPNAV and OSD policy and documentation related to management, operations, and life-cycle management of military acquisition programs.
- Experience supporting senior Navy and DoD leadership liaison operations, providing facilities management while managing all activities related to an organization remote from NAVAIR HQ, but as a tenant to another Command.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
