What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Manager position at Bowline Hotel?
The Assistant General Manager is an experienced and reliable individual. This person will be heavily involved in operations work and will be responsible for performing a number of different duties. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, flexible, and excited to learn many different roles at Bowline Hotel and The Knot Bar. The Assistant General Manager will collaborate with the GM, Kitchen Manager, Bar Lead, and Accommodations Manager and will step in where operationally necessary across all departments on the property.
Duties Responsibilities
- Shift lead as needed across the property and departments
- Guest Services
- Housekeeping
- Bar
- Kitchen
- Laundry
- Troubleshoot, de-escalate and make appropriate decisions for the operations as needed
- Responsible for creating a positive work environment for team, being a good leader, and fostering teamwork amongst their team members.
- Assist with the new hiring process as needed (resumes/interviews)
- Respond to emails in a timely manner each day you work.
- Clearly and appropriately escalate and communicate issues through correct channels (Slack, email, trello).
- Arrive on property on time and ready for your shifts.
- At all times communicate in a respectful manner.
- Assist GM with end of day paperwork, deposits, and closing duties.
- Assist with resolving guest complaints and issues as assigned and on a daily basis while on shift.
- Jump in operationally and work service (FOH and BOH), housekeeping, or guest services shifts as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by GM.
Qualifications
- Must have 2 years of hospitality experience.
- Patience and problem solving skills are necessary to effectively do this job.
- 1 years in leadership experience a plus
- Facilities experience a plus
- Knowledgeable with various hotel systems preferred: PMS, CRM, POS
- Must possess exceptional skills in training and development of staff.
- Must possess strong leadership skills.
- Responsible and detail oriented.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes.
- Able to lift and carry linens/items up to 30lbs.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong de escalation skills

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
