R&D Journeyman

Job Summary

The R&D Journeyman is responsible for executing a variety of tasks across steel, sheet metal, composites fabrication, millwork, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to safety standards. The Journeyman will work in a semi-autonomous environment, leading a team of technicians, and supporting the foreman by overseeing and executing tasks related to testing, validation, prototyping, and engineering changes. This position requires expertise in the use of trade specific hand and power tools, measuring equipment, and a keen eye for quality, attention to detail, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow detailed CAD drawings to accurately execute and document work related to new and existing product development, engineering changes, testing, prototyping, validation, and inspection.
• Lead and mentor R&D technicians, providing guidance on tool use, task execution, and best practices.
• Operate CNC machinery, including routers, waterjets, plasma cutters, and laser systems.
• Use warehouse equipment such as reach lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, pallet jacks, and telehandlers.
• Maintain a safe work environment by applying safety practices, including fall restraint and arrest systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
