Boxzooka is looking for an experienced and passionate Human Resources leader to fulfill an important executive function. The focus of this role is to maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure a great employee experience. The ideal candidate will bring the right balance of collaboration, influence, and expert leadership - making people feel heard, but also biasing toward action and impact, by positioning their team for success and developing people strategies that help achieve long-term transformation.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide vision, leadership, and coaching to HR team members relative to a best-in-class onboarding and employment experience.
- Lead key Human Resource development and implementation of performance and department goals.
- Operationalizes the HR function by enhancing department accountabilities, including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and ADA/EEO compliance.
- Continually research industry and Human Resources trends to ensure the implementation of best practices are aligned with industry standards.
- Provide counsel, guidance, assistance and coaching to executives, leaders, and managers during complex employee relations situations.
- Maintain effective relationships with leadership team, functional peers, and outside HR groups to enhance business effectiveness.
- Manage the development and maintenance of the ATS and HRIS.
- Drive the creation of a prioritized list of People initiatives that align with our strategic priorities, solve key pain points, and provide transparency against those initiatives’ milestones and roadblocks.
Talent Acquisition and Development:
- Enhance and maintain a comprehensive talent acquisition and retention plans to meet human capital needs and enable growth of the business.
- Work with leadership team and managers to develop high quality role descriptions and assignments within the organization.
- Review all role descriptions to maximize clarity of role responsibilities.
- Enhance programs to allow Boxzooka to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employees.
- Identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and direct Training Administrator to develop specific programs to fill the identified gaps.
Talent Development:
- Enhance and maintain organizational review process that evaluates structure, competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and develop specific strategies to fill the gaps.
- Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
- Recommend talent management and succession planning initiatives to ensure business objectives: increase the organization’s human capital, accelerate development & retention of key talent, increase investor returns
- Enhance and maintain appropriate training infrastructure, tools, and processes necessary to support and grow our team for continued quality output
- Collaborate with leaders at all levels, in all departments to cultivate shared ownership and commitment to virtual and blended learning
- Coach leaders on ways to increase productivity and maintain an effective and engaging work environment

Compliance, Legal & Regulatory:
- Mitigate risk by ensuring all HR policies and programs are compliant with the regulatory requirements in each state and jurisdiction
- Ensure that our human resource policies, practices, and programs support the business strategy, management principles, legal commitments core values, and our culture
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal, state, and local requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
- Protect the interests of the company by ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, globally
- Assist with oversight, focus, and enforcement of safety regulatory compliance.
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date understanding of all relevant regulation and legislation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on human resources issues/trends and evolving legislation that may impact the business, planning accordingly for the company to respond to these trends/developments as they occur, communicate changes in company policies and practices to leadership and broader employee population

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study AND
- Ten (10) years of Human Resource experience AND
- Five (5) years of Human Resources leadership experience OR
- Equivalent education and experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or other certification required

- Demonstrated experience building out a people and culture function in a growing organization while also supporting the overall growth of the organization
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and driving results
- Extensive knowledge of HR practices, laws, and regulations in a multi-state environment
- Previous experience integrating HR systems pre/post-acquisition
- Rock-solid communication skills, both verbal and written – people skills are a must!
- Ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate, and interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to hold uncomfortable conversations from a point of collegiality, kindness, and respect - a must!
- Proven self-starter with foresight that can analyze issues and provide solutions - a must!
- Metrics-driven with an analytical mindset driving decisions
- Must be able to think and act strategically, but also be willing to roll up your sleeve
- Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and a rapidly evolving business landscape
- Solution oriented: willing to dig in to find the “why” and be part of building a process to proactively address challenges
- Outstanding execution and project management skills
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
