Corporate Buyer

The focus of this position is inventory management, profitability & relationships.

Manage specified categories

  • Abide by inventory parameters set by the Director of Purchasing.
    • Do not let us run out of material.
  • Study and understand market trends
    • Pricing (Supply/Demand)

Establish strong business relationships with our vendors & sales team.

  • Office, lunch, or dinner meetings with vendors.
  • Personalize relationship with vendors and sales representatives.

Market knowledge of all products

  • Monday meetings with Director of Purchasing.
  • Analyze market pricing.
    • Cost structure.
    • View Argus and other web sites for market insight
  • Consistently search for new sources.
  • Be the market expert at Boyd Metals for your inventory categories.
