Job Posting for Middle School Services Coordinator at BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF METRO DENVER INC
The Middle School Services Coordinator (MSSC) works to ensure that DPS middle school students receive comprehensive services for their educational, personal, and future lives. MSSC’s work with DPS, the City and County of Denver, community resources, and families to ensure that the best options are made available to each student. Staff will develop and facilitate curriculum, lead classes and groups, maintain service plans, track program data, and assist with reporting requirements. MSSCs will provide day school supports and services will be offered Monday through Thursday, during the second half of the school day (see general schedule below). Out-of-school services will occur Monday through Thursday at a nearby Club location. Fridays are reserved fully for out-of-school activities, such as “Teen Nights” to provide age-appropriate, target programs to all middle schools within the geographic region.
The Middle School Services Coordinator will have the following knowledge and skills:
Through a holistic approach, empower members to make appropriate choices regarding their educational, social, physical and emotional needs
Provide individualized and/or group support for each student throughout their engagement in the program, including behavioral health support through SEL curriculum and referrals to services, executive functioning skills support, and family and community advocacy
Foster student growth in communication skills, self-advocacy and relationship skills
Connect families with outside public and private agencies on an as-needed basis
Provide curriculum that encourage responsible decision-making, accountability, and self-awareness.
Programs are planned, presented, and paced appropriately for youth, reflecting youth needs
Demonstrate a knowledge of, interest in, and respect for the community the Club serves
Act as a team member and develop positive working relationships
Program cross discipline activities with other staff members in a collaborative way.
Considerable knowledge and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of BGCMD
Demonstrate ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations, personnel management, and budget management
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
Additional responsibilities include:
Partner and collaborate with school personnel, student guardians and community stakeholders to equip students for success.
Manage general facilities operations including but not limited to, unlocking the building, setting up and taking down the classroom equipment, cleaning of general areas,
Log member Attendance using EZ Child track system
Responsibilities may include inventory and purchase of teaching materials, upkeep of area, and participating in ongoing professional development.
