Job Summary: The Aurora Area Director is responsible for the leadership, staff management, program management, administrative tasks, and development of the Aurora Area and Boys & Girls Club programming.
The Aurora Director must be able to meet enrollment/attendance goals, staff development, community/board engagement, and any other goals set forth by the organization.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Communicate and build consensus around the Club’s mission, vision, and core values and act in a consistent manner.

- Assist the Human Resources Director with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring new staff.
Program Management & Supervision
- Observe sites during hours of operation and ensure a productive work environment.
- Supervise Aurora Program Coordinators to ensure that programs and plans are being implemented accordingly.
- Oversee the implementation of a recruitment and retention plan for Club members and provide leadership and guidance to ensure successful completion of enrollment and attendance goals.
- Ensure program teams are wearing uniforms and name tags every day.
- Ensure implementation of planned programs that encompass key BGCA programs, outcome areas, and the 5 Key Elements.
Administration, Reporting & Financial Management
- Ensure program compliance, data collection, and paperwork to meet the obligations on grant contracts. Generate status reports as requested.
- Ensure that the club resources are effectively used for mission-driven programs.
- Assist with grant applications and supporting documents when requested.
- Implement, supervise and evaluate all programs and activities provided at the program site, per the grant guidelines ensuring all objectives are met.
- Ensure the Aurora Program Coordinators complete monthly reports and dashboards in order to provide program highlights, membership and attendance data, and other pertinent information as requested.
- Ensure successful program execution, including compiling monthly reports, meeting enrollment/attendance requirements, budget management, upkeep, and program evaluation per grant guidelines.
- Supervise the data collection process to ensure accurate record keeping of member attendance, grades collection, and other pertinent data.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing MyClubHub to generate reports necessary for grant reporting purposes and data entry.
- Recommend requisitions, as necessary; to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
- Help maintain an inventory of all program equipment and ensure that supplies are in good order.
- Participation in mandatory grant-related trainings (may include overnight travel).
Communication, Marketing & Resource Development
- Collaborate with outside community organizations and the Director of Community Engagement to maintain partnerships.
- Establish and maintain a healthy partnership with the Aurora School District.
- Partner with the Aurora School District Schools.
- Maintain a professional tone in written and verbal communication. Provide professional presentations on behalf of the Club as needed.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure compliance with BGCA graphic standards.
- Oversee the production and distribution of a monthly newsletter for parents and schools that highlights and recognizes programs, members, and upcoming events.
- Establish regular meeting times with the Aurora Program Coordinators (at least 2 a month). Keep agendas and minutes of all meetings.
Environmental Conditions
- The Aurora Area Director may have to manage several projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of residents, clients and contractors. The Aurora Area Director may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
Mental Demands (Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigue)
- The Aurora Area Director will have to manage several requests and situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete tasks within tight deadlines

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
