SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist supports the daily operational functions of the People Operations (POPS) department including recruiting, hiring, employment separation, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices with direction from the Senior Director, People Operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to assist in hiring qualified applicants
- Conducts pre-employment background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Conducts onboarding and new hire orientation process including fingerprinting and badge ID production
- Complete current and past employee verification inquiries via phone, e-mail and fax
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred; OR willingness to complete an employer supported education completion plan for a related B.A. within 6 years
- At least one year of progressive experience in the Human Resources management preferred
- SHRM-CP certification a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Ability to achieve and maintain first aid and CPR certification
- Must pass a name-based and fingerprint criminal records background check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand, utilize fine and gross motor manipulation, and climbing ramps, stairs and/or into planes. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions, and the noise level in the work environment may be loud.
