What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Manager position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manage the overall operations of the aquatics program and activities under limited supervision. With primary responsibility for the planning, developing, implementation, and coordination of quality programs, activities, services, and special events.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Providing excellent customer service with regards to the public
- Service as a role model for youth
- Instruct swim lessons and other aquatics related certifications for youth and adults
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, membership
- Hire, supervise, and schedule lifeguard team
- Accurate reporting of member/staff discipline, counseling, and staff evaluations
- Responsible for cash register operation, documentation of all monies, and receipts
- Enforce Club youth discipline policy consistently
- Supervise and assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the Natatorium
- Promote Club membership and participation from the community
- Insure proper security of the Natatorium facility, equipment, and supplies
- Good written and verbal communication
- Maintain open communication with direct supervisor and management team
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordination with KISD coaches and swim teams
- Assume other duties as assigned by the DCEO
- Assist with pool maintenance as needed
SKILLS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma/GED required
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Willingness to obtain Certified Pool Operator if needed
- Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making, delegation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to indoor pool area conditions
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Exposure to periods of loud or excessive noise
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
