What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at BPA?
The following are tasks to be performed by the Painter. The duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the Supervisors. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily.
SUMMARY:
The Painter is responsible for preparing paints and painting all daily orders. Knows how to select appropriate paint or mix paints. Operates various types of paint guns and equipment. Must be able to read and understand paint specifications and apply them. Must be able to read and understand bill of materials (BOM’s). Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Read, understand and follow the standard work instructions (SWI)
- Select the appropriate paint or mix paints according to the standard work instructions
- Operate spray, or flow coating equipment or other painting or product coating equipment as required
- Clean and maintain painting equipment daily
- Paint various parts according to the part guidelines to ensure quality
- Place painted parts on drying rack
- Ensure wet parts get placed in the drying room for appropriate length of time
- Know and use Client’s Quality policy to ensure the quality and standard of parts
- Assist other employees to meet Client’s Quality policy
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years painting experience in an industrial setting required
- Pass a Respirator test/ Physical
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in thinning and mixing paints
- Familiar with MIL-SPEC Standards
