PMHNP Psychotherapist

Amygdala Medical Corporation is looking for an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide outpatient psychiatric care in an established private practice office for full-time is available. The starting date will be within 45-60 days of signing contracts. Join our team and experience the freedom and flexibility of a private practice.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Overview:

We currently have a position open for a certified Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prior experience treating psychiatric patients of all ages in an outpatient setting.

The nurse practitioner must be competent and experienced in psychotherapy, preferably with therapy certification.

The nurse practitioner must be experienced in working with children and adolescents in outpatient settings.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements:

• At the time of application, you must hold a current and unrestricted NP furnishing license in the state of CA
• MUST have a current DEA that is valid in CA
• MUST have own malpractice insurance
• MUST be certified in psychiatry/mental health at the time of applying
• MUST have a current NPI number in your name (not corporate)
• MUST have not opted out of seeing MediCare patients
• MUST have no history of malpractice - We only contract with Board Certified providers with no hits on the National Database
• MUST be comfortable treating children and adults
• MUST be comfortable in providing therapy
• MUST be comfortable seeing new patients regularly and devising diagnosis and treatment plan with minimal supervision
• Must speak fluent English
• Bilingual is a plus

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

• Formulate initial diagnosis and create/continue treatment plans for children, adolescents, and adults
• Obtain informed consent and provide medication management for patients
• Complete paperwork related to clinical progress of patients seen by the practice, including but not limited to disability forms, etc.
• Facilitate client referrals to appropriate practitioners, health facilities, and resources
• Focus on medication management with the option to practice psychotherapy
• Keep up-to-date and accurate electronic medical records on your patients
• Train and work with other staff members to provide the best patient care possible
• Be willing to grow with the company by continuing ongoing psychiatric education

Job Types: Full-time

Experience:

• Minimum 2 year experience as a PMHNP.
• Psychotherapy (CBT, Trauma focused, or other modalities)
• Prescribing psychiatric medications to patients of all ages (including children and adolescents)
• Familiarity with outpatient mental health and commonly prescribed therapy (including controlled medications)

License:

• Psychiatric Mental Health NP Certification (Required)
• NP Furnishing License CURRENTLY active in CA (Required)

Work authorization:

Schedule:

• Office hours are 9AM to 5PM PST, M-Th. (including certain holidays)
• 8 hour shifts (30-60 minute lunches)

Employment is contingent on passing pre-employment background check and drug testing. References are highly recommended.
