What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Staff Scheduler position at Bradford County Manor?
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Preparation of daily staffing schedules; processing, grants or denials of employee requests for vacation time and personal days off. Reviews daily staffing/levels; call-ins or cancels scheduled personnel as appropriate.
2. Keep Mandate lists current.
3. Calculates nursing care hours on a daily basis, ensures a log of staffing to make sure required shifts are fulfilled and submits to Director of Nursing.
4. Operates various business machines such as calculator, copy machine and computer.
5. Corresponds with recruiting agencies when needed. Gathers required credentials for agency staff.
6. Tracks licenses and certifications for nursing staff; RN, LPN, and CNA.
a. Keeps record book of copies for each employee’s license/certification.
b. Verifies their license/certification is current and in good standing every two months. Keeps copy of each verification.
7. Other duties as requested.
Education
High school education. Advanced skills in computer processes, keyboarding, e-mail and developing and maintaining excel spreadsheets. Advanced math skills and scheduling experience preferred.
Training
Two (2) years of clerical experience, preferably in a health care facility or Physician’s office. Exposure to public health care policies, procedures, and regulations desired.
