Brainly is scaling! We are looking for a Director of Product to lead the expansion of Tutoring products, a new vertical at Brainly dedicated to supporting students with their academic needs.
This is a highly visible and impactful role. You will be responsible for understanding the global tutoring competitive landscape, developing product strategy and execution for this new vertical, and play a key role in generating growth, engagement, and monetization.
The ideal candidate is a product leader who has an established background in developing B2C and user-based customer products, well-defined product management processes, and has a proven track record in scaling up products in terms of usage and monetization, as well as growing product organization (we are hiring massively). This is a unique opportunity to directly contribute to Tutoring product and has an impact on the lives of hundreds of millions of students globally, and help us scale one of the fastest-growing and highest-quality consumer learning brands 🚀
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead, define, represent and communicate product strategy to all stakeholders
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch of the product(s) across all platforms and scale up to all markets
- Work with content strategy, business, and marketing leadership to develop the long-term Tutoring
roadmap, balancing long-term investments against near-term KPIs and targets - Develop an excellent product sense that ensures our products remain Student First
- Lead quarterly product planning and assign goals and deliverables
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics
- Drive innovative ideas, solutions, and products through leadership and decisive action
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of product managers
- Build high performing product organization by growing and creating teams and processes to deliver
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?
Experience
- Required
- 5 years experience identifying, directing, and executing product development
- 3 years experience navigating new products/expansions by leveraging customer feedback, market surveys, and trends
- Experience in leading a team preferably product managers
- Experience hiring and developing both individual contributors and senior leaders
- Expertise in developing metrics to assess the success of products and features and determining necessary enhancements
- Strong project management and team leadership experience with a track record of scoping and leading product development projects
- Preferred
- Experience with peer to peer products, particularly video, audio-driven
- Experience with subscription-based products
- Experience with marketplaces
- Experience in K-12 or higher education ed-tech
Skills
- Required
- Strong analytical and statistical skills and experience defining and understanding A/B testing, funnel analysis, conversion, consumer acquisition, retention, and go-to-market strategies
- Demonstrated ability to develop or improve repeatable and scalable product development processes
- Crisp and effective executive communication skills, including significant experience presenting cross-functionally and across all levels
- The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it
- A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly
- Ability to work in a global environment and across multiple departments
