Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media Director to join our team. The Media Director will oversee both traditional and digital media buying, planning, and strategy for our organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of media landscapes, both digital and traditional, including TV, radio, billboards, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee media planning and buying across various channels, including traditional (TV, radio, billboards) and digital.
- Manage relationships with media vendors and negotiate favorable rates and terms.
- Analyze media performance and provide insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in media buying and advertising.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with team on overall client strategic media planning. Help develop planning objectives and strategies that coincide with the client’s marketing direction.
- Maintain a client and/or market list.
- Negotiate, place, maintain and report on media schedules while adhering to established budget and timeline.
- Provide ongoing media planning insight and recommendations as needed.
- Develop and facilitate vendor relationships on behalf of Brand Story Experts.
- Track media expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility. Achieve the financial goals of the account by managing costs and scope of work per the client contract.
- Manage insertion orders, monitors buys in progress, and stewards media buys and makegood or credits in SBMS/Strata.
- Lead campaign reporting and analyses. Create reports, analyze campaign performance, make optimization recommendations, and effectively present performance results to internal teams and the client.
- Conduct research for media POVs on various media-related topics, including new media channels, industry trends, best practices and competitive insights.
- Collaborate with team members throughout the work process to foster, facilitate, and consistently deliver multi-channel programs that are on strategy, on time, and on budget.
- Exemplary problem-solving skills, using solid judgement to thoroughly analyze various options before making a decision.
- Ensures account and creative team is apprised of changes to the placements secured by producing and managing the traffic/production worksheet of assigned accounts.
- Reconciliation of media invoices.
- Attends agency, department, client meetings as necessary.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
5 years of experience in media buying, planning, and strategy, with a focus on both traditional and digital media.
Proven track record of successfully executing media campaigns across multiple channels.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with media vendors.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform media strategies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead, mentior and drive staff to next level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Strata, SBMS, and Programmatic Software, familiarity with media buying platforms and tools.
Certifications in media buying or related fields.
