Position Overview
Del iv e r s materials to job site, primarily del iv e r ing wall panels and/or trusses requiring oversized load permits. Ins pects and mainta ins truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor, and assists in loading and storing of materials. Typically, driving a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, and may be a
more experienced driver who also ope r a t e s a forklift. Also includes more experienced tractor trailer drivers.

Essential Job Duties
- Ope r a t e s Safely
- Participates in a positive work environment
- Mainta ins a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License as required
- Prepares DOT required log of time on duty and driving
- Organizes and secures load
- Assists forklift ope r a t ors when loading
- Checks orders for accuracy
- Del iv e r s and unloads materials to customers' satisfaction
- Completes daily equipment pre- ins pection
- Records all merchandise that is returned by truck, assists in unloading material returned for credit
- Follows gui del ines established by the Department of Transportation
- Provides Excellent Customer Service
- Relays messages sent by customers while on job
- Assists supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned
- Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in yar d and warehouse
- Complies with all company policies and gui del ines
- Safe and efficient ope r a t i o n of truck mounted forklift
- Maintain c lea nliness of truck
- Participates in and completes assigned trainings
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum education preferred - High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
- Ability to do basic math, read orders, write ins tructions and complete forms.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills .
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
- Mainta ins current ope r a t or's license and meets company driver qualification requirements.
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Physical demands include stooping, bending, twisting and throwing. Working in a variety of climates and environmental conditions. Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
- Proficiency with or ability to lea rn current technologies ( e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).
Criteria for Level II
- 5 years industry experience / freight handling (and 1 year CDL experience for interstate commerce).
- Skills demonstration: Special product handling, access to tight spaces, residential del iv e r ies, demonstrate proficiency with equipment ope r a t i o n s
- Excellent teamwork & customer relationships
- Demonstration of lea d ership (three out of four required):
- Mentor new associates
- Willingness to train others
- Safety committee engagement
- Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement project
