Description of Essential Duties
Complete a qualified Job Safety Plan (JSP) that accurately identifies each job task and the associated hazards, risks, and mitigation controls of each.
During insulation removal, keep the work area clean and properly dispose of removed insulation and metal
Ensure correct installation of insulation and weatherproofing materials according to the scope and specifications of work orders
Ensure that all equipment and tools are properly maintained and readily available for use
Lead tool box talks with their crew.
Maintain a clean and organized jobsite free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed by an insulation crew.
Mentor and develop other members of their insulation crew
Organize and maintain insulation materials at the work location and in a stock inventory area
Perform all installation and removal of insulation
Perform all installation and removal of metal jacketing
Perform general housekeeping and all assigned duties on a jobsite, as directed by supervision.
Prepare surfaces for the installation of insulation by the use of hand and power tools
Prepare surfaces for the installation of metal jacketing by the use of hand and power tools.
Prepare work site for the installation and / or removal of insulation and metal jacketing.
Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, drawings, and other work planning specifications
Secure insulation with banding, wire, straps etc. in accordance with requirements
Supervise crew(s) and perform craft specific, labor work on an as needed basis on a project.
Work directly with insulators and / or metal men to assist in installing and removing insulation and metal
Supervisor Responsibilities
Leading a crew during all assigned insulation activities
Qualification Requirements
At least two years of insulation and metal experience is preferred.
Good oral communication skills are required.
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent
The ability to do basic math is desired

The employee must regularly lift and / or move and / or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of equipment, material and / or tools which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) above shoulders (6-7 feet).
The employee must also be capable of continuously carrying / wearing harness and work belt weighing 25-50 pounds while performing essential duties.
Must also be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high, precarious places.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. r n
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The employee regularly works in high, precarious places, is potentially exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, non-weather heat, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The employee is also regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may work in varying degrees of confined space. The noise level is usually moderate, but may be loud at certain times while working at construction job sites.
There may be work related travel. The employee must be available at non-traditional hours to complete projects according to contract or job requirements.
