We are looking for a Yard Helper. This position is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within the yard by performing essential duties as instructed by supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Moves, loads, and unloads equipment in yard onto or from pallets, forklifts, trucks.
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to determine equipment/materials to be moved/loaded/unloaded.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Performs damage assessment on equipment returned to yard and assists with repair of damaged equipment.
- Performs physical/cycle counts as instructed by supervisor.
- Receives and inspects rental fleet.
- Responsible for quality and quantity verification of received goods.
- Assists with assembly and disassembly of equipment as instructed.
- Assists with movement of equipment in yard as instructed.
- Trains, as required, newer and/or less experienced yard workers in the servicing, maintaining, and stacking of equipment.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass background and drug test (random drug tests are administered after employment)
- Must be able to perform the physical duties of the job.
- Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)
- No afraid of heights
- Able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Previous experience working with concrete rental equipment (willing to train)
- Previous forklift experience (willing to train)
Work Environment
Typically located in an environment with regular exposure that may cause discomfort such as temperature extremes, moving machinery and loud noises.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Ability to use power and hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic sanders, electric and pneumatic hammers, electric drills, pneumatic rivet tool, pressure washer, electric saws, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, crowbars, chisels, hand scrapers and tape measures.
