Job Description - Project Manager
Job Summary
Manage multiple concurrent custom automation & and robotics projects from Project kick-off through customer acceptance, the project life cycle in its entirety. These projects serve primarily automotive & transportation industries. Serve as both the internal and customer point of contact for all project deliverables including scope and change management, schedule development & maintenance, labor & material budget, risk mitigation, and resources.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for Project Success & Customer Satisfaction
- Lead assigned projects successfully through all planning, design, engineering, build, and machine run-off phases: Initiation (Kick-off), Planning (baseline scope, schedule, resources), Execution (design, build, and run-off), Monitor & Controlling (scope, change, budget, schedule, risk, open issues), and Closure (FAT/SAT).
- Serve as the primary point of contact to the customer from project kick-off through Site Acceptance Test, as well as the internal point of contact for projects assigned.
- Project Status reporting internally and to customer weekly, bi-weekly or per contract requirements.
- Accurate weekly tracking and reporting of Percent of Completion (POC) for Labor & Material.
- Collaborate cross functionally to create ECR’s, estimate change labor & material costs, submit to customer, and successfully negotiate all scope changes, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and teams in Engineering, Operations and Purchasing to drive successful Project Execution.
- Utilize existing Project Management Dept. tools including Gantt Charts for schedule management & communication, ECR’s for Change Management both internally & externally, Risk management, Open Issues lists, Meeting Minutes, Project Status reports, and Phase Gate process documentation.
- Key success factors: Project performance to baseline scope, schedule, and budget. Improved customer relationships.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Project Manager management experience managing industrial automation, robotics, integration, custom manufactured solutions, or construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree is not required, preferably experience in automotive/automation.
- Strong understanding of Project Management fundamentals. PMP preferred.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High Emotional Intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn and adapt.
- Proven ability to lead successful negotiations and resolve conflict.
- Strong understanding of project management fundamentals.
- Prior success and demonstrated ability to drive Project execution to contract requirements.
- 20% travel within the United States
- Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
