Brasswood Bakery Barista and Cashier

Position Overview:

We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Café Barista/Cashier/Casual Food/Wine Service Staff. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for crafting and serving coffee beverages, operating the cash register, assisting with casual food preparation and service, and providing wine service to our customers. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for coffee, food, and wine, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and specialty blends, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Operate the cash register accurately, handling customer transactions with efficiency and providing exceptional service.
• Take customer orders for casual food items, process orders promptly, and assist with food preparation as needed.
• Maintain a good understanding of the café's menu offerings, ingredients, and allergens to provide guidance and address customer inquiries.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, food preparation areas, and wine service stations, following proper sanitation and hygiene protocols.
• Collaborate with the café team to maintain smooth operations during peak hours, ensuring excellent customer service across all aspects.
• Engage with customers in a friendly and attentive manner, addressing their concerns or special requests promptly.
• Maintain café cleanliness and sanitation by clearing tables, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking supplies as necessary.
• Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels of coffee, food, and wine, and notifying the management team of any shortages or replenishment needs.
• Uphold the café's standards for exceptional customer service, cleanliness, and quality of beverages, food, and wine offerings.
• Stay informed about current coffee trends, brewing techniques, food trends, and wine varietals to enhance product knowledge and provide informed recommendations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall café operations and contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a barista, cashier, and/or food service staff in a café or coffee shop setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong passion for coffee, food, and wine, with knowledge of various brewing methods, espresso-based beverages, and food preparation.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and engaging demeanor.
• Ability to operate a cash register accurately and handle financial transactions with attention to detail.
• Basic food handling and preparation skills, including knowledge of food safety practices.
• Multitasking capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform tasks requiring mobility.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
